Biography

I grew up on the coast near Savannah, Georgia and studied Art at Sewanee: The University of the South, earning my BA in 2007. After a summer design internship in Nashville, TN, I moved to New York City and began my design career at Domino Magazine. I also designed for New York Magazine and Martha Stewart Living.

In February 2010, I took an Intro to Letterpress class at The Arm in Brooklyn and immediately fell in love. I started making greeting cards which led to wedding invitation requests which gave me the crazy idea that perhaps I could make a living doing letterpress & design. I left my magazine job in 2011 and spent the summer working for myself and delighting in New York City.

After four years of working in a corporate office, I spent the Autumn of 2011 "wwoofing" or volunteering on organic farms in the South of France.

In 2012, I hiked the entire Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. Living outside for six months, I hiked 2,184 miles across 14 states. I started in March and completed the trail in September. My AT blog: Trekking Macon.

I now live in Asheville, North Carolina, working for myself full time – designing and letterpress printing. In addition, I'm nurturing my vegetable garden and increasing my efforts toward homesteading. I love backpacking and hiking around Asheville.
